Eclat de Granite - Côte Roannaise Rouge 2022 - £18/bottle

Generous, perfumed Gamay from this superstar organic/biodynamic producer. These guys are masters of whole bunch fermentation where stems are added, bringing extra life and vitality to the wine. It has depth, and fresh enveloping fruit. Beautiful.

Oudan – De Butte en Blanc, Urfé Blanc 2022 - £24.50/bottle

Restrained aroma, and then the varietal spiciness comes with power on the palate. At the same time the wine is slender, it is structurally and excitingly fresh, with much minerality. A very individual viognier style without overripe kirsch, ideal as a thirst-quenching aperitif or as a pairing for grilled fish.

Les Millerands - Côte Roannaise Rouge 2022 - £24.50/bottle

The nose is rich and expressive, offering aromas of fresh red fruits, notably cherry and raspberry, with floral and spicy notes in the background. On the palate, this wine is supple and balanced, with fine tannins and a beautiful liveliness. The finish is long and persistent, marked by a minerality characteristic of granite soils, bringing a subtle and elegant freshness.

~

Turbullent, Champs Libres pétillant naturel rosé NV - £19/bottle

Pink, pure and zesty, it is wall to wall with gently foaming red fruits and streaks of minerality. This is about as good as pet nat gets! wicked drinking, rosy with red cherries, sappy texture, little nibble of chalky tannin, bright, pink grapefruit acidity. Fun. It zips along at pace with a friendly, red fruited delivery.
